Against another tough opposition we were slow out of the blocks today but after some hard words from the coach at 1/2 time all responded and we really hit our straps.

With Chase’s unbelievable courage at the ball made all take notice and we were not challenged from there physically.

We had some absolutely stunning games from Chase Mackrell, Brock Ryan, Benjamyn Brown, Kasy Deren, Lenny Goldberg, Brendan Vandborg, Summah Boyd and Jack Sherer who was our captain this week in his 50th game. Our goal kickers this week were Summah, Jack and Brendan

It was a fantastic game today to really show everyone what we can achieve if we all work together. A big thank you to Zac Lovitt from U11s Thomas Ryan and Tom Sherer both U10s for stepping in to help us this week.

Fountain Gate Blue   14       9        93

Mother’s Day saw the Tooradin boys take on Fountain Gate at our home ground.

The boys gave it their all each quarter but were just not strong enough against the Gators who had a solid game! Credit to the boys who fought to the final siren. Will review the game and will concentrate on some areas  for improvement at training on Wednesday. Our only goal for the day was kicked by Jack Mannix. Go Seagulls.

Under 14’s Berwick Springs Blue vs Tooradin-Dalmore

Berwick Springs Blue           10       11       71
Tooradin-Dalmore                4        4       28

Tooradin U14’s travelled to Berwick Springs  on Sunday having secured its first victory of the season last week.

The first half saw both teams with multiple entries into their forward 50’s. Tooradin wasn’t able to convert these as well as Berwick Springs and at half time the lead to Berwick Springs was 27 pts.

The coaches made some players movement at half time and the team responded well. Quick ball movement and use of teammates led to another goal and reward for effort.

At the 3 quarter time break the coach implored the players to put in one last effort and with fresh legs in the midfield and great effort from the backline the contest become a real arm wrestle with both teams playing a great brand of football. Tooradin players without a bench, continued to battle the whole way to the siren and put on two late last quarter goals to break even against Berwick in the final term.

Goals: Charlie Shinners, James Ahern, Sethh Burby, Jai Williams.

The U12’s played away against Noble Park on Sunday and we were up against it early only for the whole team to really have a crack in the 2nd half.

It was great to see everyone put in their all but unfortunately we came up short.

Standout players were Kasy Deren, Lenny Goldberg, Cooper Pasnin, Curtis Watts, Noah  Harrington (who played his best game yet), Jack  Sherer and our inspirational skipper Tommy Rudeforth what a game he played.

Nar Nar Goon         11   12   78

Tooradin went out as a team on Sunday and showed persistence. Nar Nar Goon dominated for the most part, but our boys didn’t give up trying.  As a result, the game didn’t go our way, but there was plenty of talking and some things to work on during the week.  Best players were Ashtyn Paku, Jakob Martin, Jack Mannix, Jordan Bury, Brodie Alsemgeest and Lachlan Plant.  Great effort to everybody.

Under 14’s Tooradin-Dalmore vs Berwick Blue

Tooradin-Dalmore     5   14   44
Berwick Blue         2    4   16

After a hard week on the training track, the U14s were home to Berwick Blue and looking to make up for a big loss last week.

The game was a big occasion for 2 of our team with Jesse Craven & Fergus Goldberg both playing their 100th games.

The 1st quarter saw great intensity and attack on the ball. The teams willingness to tackle hard and move the ball quickly saw 2 quick goals and multiple inside 50’s.

Berwick turned up the pressure in the second term and both sides struggled to score. The Tooradin backline showed good composure and fought hard to keep Berwick from scoring.

With a 13 point lead the 3rd term showed the type of team oriented football that we are capable of. The ball movement was quick and accurate and gave the forwards multiple shots on goal. By the end of the quarter Tooradin had moved to a 20 point lead.

With the first victory in two years in sight the coach challenged the team to continue the run and chase they had shown all day. Players continued to put their bodies on the line and work hard for each other till the end of the game. When the siren sounded it was a great reward for effort for a team who have been fighting hard for two seasons in Division 1.

Congratulations to Jesse Craven, Best on Ground for his 100th game and to Fergus Goldberg  with both showing great intensity and attack on the ball all day in their milestone games.

Goal Scorers Panos Papas – 1, Cooper Bassett – 1, Charlie Shinners -1, Tyler Kirkbride -1, Jesse Craven – 1.
