Cora Lynn 3.2-20 vs Tooradin-Dalmore 1.6-12

After a huge win last week the Tooradin boys came crashing down against Cora Lynn this week. Cora Lynn jumped away to and early lead really making our boys work hard for every possession. To the Tooradin boys’ credit they clawed their way back in the second half stopping Cora Lyn from even scoring. With some hard work on the training track the boys will bounce back.

Best players: Jordan Bury, Cooper Simpson, Ashtyn Paku, Aaron Knight, Merrick Stewart-Wells.

Goal Kicker – Cooper Simpson.

Tooradin-Dalmore 18.5-113 vs Narre North Foxes Grey 2.0-12

Tooradin U13’s took on Narre North Foxes at Rutter Park in the late game of the day. After last week was played in wet and windy conditions, today was perfect weather for footy.

The first quarter was a tight contest and it took a dominant performance from Anthony Mirauta in front of goal, to ensure we took a strong lead into quarter time.

The Tooradin midfield was able to take control of the centre clearances early and the teams trademark of using teammates and defensive pressure at both ends, ensured that we stayed on top at half time.

The second half gave the coaches an opportunity to move players around, which resulted in everyone being able to play their part whether in the ruck or at fullback and it was pleasing to see the even spread of goal kickers by the end of the game.

There has been terrific growth by the team in the past 12 months and we look forward to seeing where the season takes them.

Goals: Anthony Mirauta 5, Panos Papas 4, Liam Simpson 3, Tylor Dalgleish 2, Brodie Matthews 2, Matthew Ward 1, Bailey Wear 1.

Best players: Brock Marshall, Jayden Govaars, Riley Watts, Matthew Chapman and Charlie Ogier.

Tooradin-Dalmore 2.1-13 vs Beaconsfield Gold 23.12-150

On Sunday in perfect sunny Melbourne weather Tooradin took on Beaconsfield Gold at home. Valiant efforts were shown by the boys. Some stand out players of the day were Jack Jenkins who played hard all day taking lots of possessions and constantly running hard and into the play. Glen Sieben fought well in the back line even carrying an injury in the last quarter refused to give in. Max Kendell showed a strong work rate making and winning contests around the ground.

Although our Tooradin boys lost, great spirit was shown and lessons learnt. Our goal kickers for the day,  Joseph Spano and Lachlan McLeod with 1 goal each.
